fixed-centre cycling holidaysclassic cycling countryside...Unlike the more traditional moving-on tours, this holiday is based at a luxury villa, set in its own secluded grounds with a private swimming-pool. It is therefore appealing to both the cyclist for that après-cycling relaxation, as well as their non-cycling partners who may wish to explore the local historical towns, visit the local markets and brocantes or simply lounge by the pool. There are specially prepared laminated route guides from 10k to 200k, all designed to take in the wonderful Languedoccian countryside. Each cycling day will begin with breakfast prepared for you at the villa, followed by a chat about the cycling opportunities from your doorstep. Once you have selected a route, you are free to go off and enjoy the day's riding, direct from the villa. When you return, an evening meal will have been prepared for you. Although you will be riding without tour guides, there will be plenty of support on offer should you require it. There is also plenty to do when you're not riding, or indeed for non-cycling partners, with activities such as canoeing, horse-riding, painting, pottery and wine-tasting all within easy reach of the villa. For those wishing to soak up some provençal culture the nearby historical towns include Uzès, Avignon, Orange, Les Baux de Provence and Nîmes. Some people like to bring their own bikes down to the villa, and others prefer to just rent bikes locally. Both are very easy, in fact we have specially chosen routes from each of the three major arrival destinations; Avignon TGV, Nimes airport and the European Bike Express bus station in Orange. Each route takes in some stunning sights, for example the Pont du Gard, and each is about 50kms in length. For those preferring to rent bikes locally we even have our own bike hire shop in the village, named village vélo.
