Painting and Pottery holidays tuition, landscape painting excursions... only £595 per week for painters (£475 for non-painting partners) This painting holiday is based at a luxury villa Sadoussant, set in its own secluded grounds with a private swimming-pool. Located in the heart of the spectacular scenery, it is therefore appealing to both the painter and non-painting partners alike. On your doorstep you'll find vineyards, medieval villages and rugged garrigue all of which will be the subject of your paintings on five excursions. Non painting partners are free to explore the local historical towns, visit the local markets and brocantes or simply lounge by the pool. You are free to choose how much or how little painting you want to do; whether you want to paint using watercolours, oils or acrylics; whether you wish to paint still life or landscapes; you decide. Each day will begin with breakfast prepared for you at the villa, and a chat with your painting instructor, local artists Sarah Wood or Robert Prouty. Sarah has lived in France for 18 years, and now spends her time painting and working on sets for film and theatre. You will then be accompanied by Sarah or Robert to the chosen location for the morning, along with your easels and paints. Lunch will either be a picnic on location or a light lunch served back at the villa. After lunch, you are free to relax by the pool, visit local attractions or continue to paint. On one afternoon during the week you will be taken to a local potter to try your hand at spinning the wheel. There are currently 20 resident potters in St Quentin la Poterie, as well as a ceramics museum. For five evenings of the holiday, a home-cooked evening meal will be prepared for you. There is also plenty to do when you're not painting, or indeed for non-painting partners, with activities such as canoeing, horse-riding, cycling and wine-tasting all within easy reach of the villa. For those wishing to soak up some provenēal culture the nearby historical towns include Uzčs, Avignon, Orange, Les Baux de Provence and Nīmes. |
